Born and raised in Berlin, Germany, Dr. Fechner began his medical training at the University of Freiburg Medical School. Following medical school, Dr. Fechner completed his surgical internship at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston.

He then went on to complete a rigorous four-year Harvard residency training program at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary in Boston, where his work focused exclusively on surgery of the face, head, and neck.
